Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a CDL A Delivery Driver and Truck Maintenance Mechanic, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of freight delivery and vehicle upkeep. This energetic position combines the thrill of over-the-road (OTR) driving with hands-on truck maintenance, providing an engaging work environment that keeps you moving and improving your skills. You'll be responsible for delivering freight efficiently across various routes, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, while maintaining compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations. Your expertise will help us uphold safety standards and deliver exceptional service to our customers. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and commercial trucks on over-the-road routes, utilizing GPS navigation to ensure timely deliveries. Load and unload freight, including refrigerated cargo, hazardous materials, dangerous goods, and other logistics cargo handling tasks. Drive a variety of vehicle types such as flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA guidelines. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations. Perform routine truck maintenance checks and repairs to ensure optimal performance; troubleshoot mechanical issues related to manual transmissions and other truck systems. Handle automobile transportation tasks when required, including securing loads for transport. Follow safety protocols for hazardous materials handling and transportation, ensuring compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving is essential. Proven delivery driver experience with route driving across diverse environments. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient deliveries. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and effectively. Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in truck loading/unloading, flatbed operations, tanker handling, and general truck maintenance, including oil change, trouble shooting. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, manual handling proficiency, and attention to detail in load securing.
