Fleet Mechanic Full Job Description Fleet Technician - Diesel & Gas for a private fleet FedEx contractor with approximately 130 various sized trucks including but not limited to Freightliner/Volvo/Mack Tractors, Ford F-59 & E-450, Ford Transit, and 26 Foot Box Trucks, diesel and gas powered. The primary duty of this individual will be to maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to driver complaints, provide timely, quality, and cost-effective repair and maintenance for vehicle fleet that requires preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications, and repairs.

Skills and Qualifications:

Tier 4 Diagnostics (Mack/Volvo/Freightliner) Air brakes ABS Systems Electrical diagnostics & repair DEF Systems Internal engine repair Complete PM service Knowledge of diesel engine fuel racks Familiar with DOT Compliance Verifiable mechanic experience Must own tools needed to perform repairs Dependable Time management Ability to work independently or with another team member Conduct inspection and diagnostics; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.

Job Duties:

Must be able to work independently. Salaried position. Pay is not based on flag hours . Pay is dependent upon experience. Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems. Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs. Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as required. Must be willing to submit to a drug and background check and obtain a DOT physical
