DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on repairing and restoring the body, interior, and glass components of department vehicles and equipment. It plays a key role in maintaining safe and reliable transportation assets. As an Automotive Body Repairer, you will perform the following duties:

Body Repair:

Restore damaged or rusted auto equipment

Component Replacement:

Replace or repair vehicle parts such as doors, fenders, seats, and flooring

Glass Work:

Install new windshield, side, or rear glass

Paint Application:

Mix paints, match colors, and apply coatings to equipment

Documentation:

Record completed work, serviced equipment, time spent, and parts used

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Hours may vary with seasonal requirements.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of semiskilled experience in automotive body repair and painting in a commercial operation; or

Completion of a high school vocational-technical program in automotive body repair from an accredited vocational trade school; or

Completion of a post-secondary curriculum in automotive body repair from an accredited technical school.

Special Requirements:

All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
