Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fleet Manager / Working Mechanic to lead our vehicle and equipment maintenance operations while actively participating in hands-on repair work. Responsibilities Manage daily fleet operations, including scheduling maintenance and repairs for trucks, heavy equipment, and farm machinery. Perform hands-on repairs and diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles and machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Conduct detailed inspections using schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical systems such as transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, and electrical systems. Oversee the maintenance of vehicle systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards like air brake systems and alignment specifications. Lead a team of technicians by providing guidance on fabrication, welding, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance procedures. Maintain accurate records of all repairs, service logs, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Coordinate with vendors for parts procurement and ensure timely delivery of essential components for ongoing repairs. Skills Extensive dealership experience with heavy equipment operation, automotive diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance. Proficiency in fabricating parts and performing welding tasks using power tools and hand tools. Strong knowledge of excavator, crane, forklift operation, and farm machinery troubleshooting. Ability to read schematics related to mechanical systems repair including hydraulics, suspensions, transmissions, HVAC systems, and automotive electrical systems. Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, tire service, and brake repair. Familiarity with vehicle assembly processes and equipment maintenance best practices. Mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience for diagnosing complex vehicle system issues. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with drivers and team members regarding repairs or operational concerns.

From $35.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
