Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Reefer Trailer/Truck Mechanic Specialist to join our service mobile maintenance team. Your core responsibilities will consist of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigerated trailers, standard trailers and heavy duty and medium duty trucks to ensure safe and efficient performance according to customers requests. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on reefer trailers and heavy trucks, including refrigeration units, diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Conduct repairs and maintenance using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and operational requirements. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues by interpreting schematics, vehicle systems diagnostics, and technical manuals. Repair, maintenance and services based off DOT requirements to maintain vehicle safety and compliance. Maintain detailed service records and communicate work progress and diagnostics with management, interact and communicate with customers at work locations as needed, and ensure all work is safely completed. Experience and requirements 2 years hands-on repair or extensive background in reefer trailer, heavy duty, medium duty and light duty trucks and equipment mechanics is highly preferred.(608 certification a +) Must have a valid, clean drivers license and record. (Class B or higher a +) Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, schematics interpretation, and trucking electrical system repair and diagnostics. Strong knowledge of diesel mechanics including diesel engine repair, air brake systems, powertrain components, suspension systems, shocks & struts. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance for truck drivers, individual company service policies and understanding of DOT regulations and requirements Physically capable to lift over 75lbs, work in kneeling, standing, sitting, bending and laying positions. Also to work and manuever in tight working conditions and on elevated platforms, stairs or ladders. Experience working with heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, boom lifts and dump bed hydraulic systems is a plus. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems efficiently while maintaining high safety standards. $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
