RV Service Advisor
Job Description
Gavins Point Recreational Center is looking for a professional, organized, customer-focused RV Service Advisor to join our service team. This is first and foremost a customer service position . The primary responsibility of our Service Advisor is to make sure every customer feels informed, respected, updated, and taken care of throughout the entire service process. From the moment a customer drops off their RV until the moment they pick it up, the Service Advisor is the main point of contact and plays a critical role in shaping that customer's experience with our dealership. Primary Responsibilities As an RV Service Advisor, you will be responsible for managing the customer experience and helping coordinate repair work between the customer, technicians, parts, warranty, and service management.
Duties include:
Greet service customers in a professional and welcoming manner Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document service needs Create and maintain repair orders Gather detailed information from customers to help technicians understand reported concerns Schedule service appointments and help manage the flow of incoming work Communicate repair needs, findings, and recommended services to customers Prepare estimates and obtain customer approval before additional work is performed Keep customers consistently updated on repair status, delays, parts availability, and expected completion timing Coordinate closely with RV technicians regarding diagnosis, recommended repairs, and repair progress Work with the parts department to help ensure required parts are ordered and available Coordinate with warranty personnel on manufacturer and extended-warranty repairs Follow up on open repair orders and help prevent jobs from stalling Review completed repair orders for accuracy before customer pickup Explain completed repairs and service work to customers in a clear, understandable manner Contact customers when units are complete and coordinate pickup Follow up with customers after service when appropriate Assist with customer questions regarding maintenance, repair recommendations, and future service needs Maintain accurate customer records and service documentation Help resolve customer concerns quickly, professionally, and respectfully Work closely with the Service Manager to help maintain an efficient and customer-focused service department Customer Service Comes First The most important part of this position is not paperwork, scheduling, or repair orders. It is taking care of the customer. RV repairs can be stressful for customers, especially when they are dealing with travel plans, vacations, seasonal camping, unexpected repairs, or delays. Our Service Advisor is responsible for making sure customers never feel forgotten or left wondering what is happening with their RV.That means:
Returning phone calls Providing proactive updates Setting realistic expectations Following through on commitments Communicating delays before the customer has to ask Treating every customer with patience and respect Taking ownership when an issue needs to be resolved We believe strong communication is one of the most important parts of excellent service. We are looking for someone who understands that even when a repair takes longer than expected, a customer can still have a great experience when they are treated well, communicated with, and kept informed. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have some previous experience around RVs, vehicles, equipment, or dealership service operations. Previous experience in an RV dealership, agricultural dealership, automotive dealership, equipment dealership, or similar service environment is strongly preferred.Candidates should have:
Basic RV knowledge or familiarity with trailers, vehicles, or mechanical systems Strong customer-service skills Excellent verbal and written communication The ability to explain service information in a clear and professional manner Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple customers and repair orders at once Strong follow-through and attention to detail Ability to work effectively with technicians, parts personnel, warranty staff, and management Basic computer skills and ability to learn dealership software A professional attitude and appearance Ability to stay calm and solution-focused during difficult customer situations A strong sense of ownership and accountability A willingness to learn and continue developing RV knowledge You do not need to be an RV technician, but you should be comfortable learning about RV systems, repairs, maintenance, and terminology so you can communicate effectively with both customers and technicians.
