Duties Disassemble, inspect, and diagnose issues within various types of vehicle transmissions, including manual and automatic systems. Rebuild transmissions using specialized tools, schematics, and technical manuals to restore proper function. Test rebuilt transmissions on vehicle test stands or in vehicles to verify performance and identify any remaining issues. Utilize automotive electrical systems knowledge to troubleshoot electronic components associated with modern transmissions. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment while handling heavy components and power tools. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and excellent customer service. Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and diagnostic findings for each transmission serviced. Requirements Proven experience working as an automotive technician with a focus on transmission repair or rebuilding. Dealership experience or extensive background in automotive repair industry Strong mechanical knowledge of powertrain systems, including diesel engines, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems. Proficiency with schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and hand tools required for disassembly and assembly processes. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately while following safety standards. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, welding techniques, auto body repair, auto estimating, and maintenance procedures is advantageous.
