Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and energetic Reefer Trailer Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigerated trailers to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet running smoothly, supporting efficient logistics operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy-duty equipment, utilize advanced diagnostic tools, and contribute to a safety-focused environment. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections of reefer trailers, including refrigeration units, mechanical systems, electrical components, and structural integrity. Diagnose issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes of failures. Repair and replace refrigeration components, air brake systems, suspensions, shocks & struts, hydraulics, and other trailer systems. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as tire service, wheel alignments, equipment lubrication, and electrical system repairs. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to complete repairs efficiently. Test repaired trailers to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational requirements before returning them to service. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all repairs performed for tracking and compliance purposes. Requirements Previous experience with Carrier Units. Knowledge of heavy truck repair including transmissions, diesel engines, HVAC systems, and vehicle systems for truck drivers. Experience working with schematics and electrical systems related to automotive or industrial equipment. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in suspension repair, tire service, and equipment maintenance. Familiarity with diesel mechanics, hydraulic systems, air brakes, alignment procedures, and S-cam brake repair. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent customer service abilities to communicate effectively with team members and clients. Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions; willingness to adhere to safety protocols at all times.
