DFW Lube Ventures LLC is a rapidly growing Quick Lube & Automotive Repair company with multiple locations across the DFW area. We are looking for an experienced ASE Certified Mechanic who can diagnose and repair vehicles, communicate with customers, write their own service tickets, and help deliver a high level of customer service. This is a working position in an active automotive shop environment. This is not a sit-behind-the-counter-only job, and it is not just a back-of-the-shop mechanic position either. The right person needs to be comfortable working outside in the heat, cold, rain, and normal Texas weather while inspecting vehicles, documenting repairs, communicating with customers, and performing the work. We are looking for someone who understands vehicles, knows how to explain repairs, and can take ownership of the customer experience from inspection to estimate to repair completion.
Position Overview:
The ASE Certified Mechanic / Service Advisor will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, estimating, documenting, and repairing customer vehicles. This person must be able to write detailed service tickets, take photos and videos, explain recommendations to customers, and perform the approved repairs. Knowledge of how a vehicle operates is a must. You will be removing wheels from vehicles, inspecting brakes, suspension, tires, steering components, leaks, drivability issues, and other mechanical concerns. You will also be taking pictures and recording videos so customers can clearly see what is wrong with their vehicle and understand the recommended repairs. We need someone who is a self-starter, customer-service driven, and motivated by automotive hospitality. The right person communicates well, works hard, stays organized, and can move quickly in a busy shop without cutting corners.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair vehicle mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues. Inspect engines, brakes, suspension, steering, tires, fluids, leaks, and related components. Examine vehicle computer and electronic systems to perform repairs, maintenance Perform routine maintenance, including fluid services, lubrication, filters, brakes, tune-ups, and other preventative maintenance. Remove wheels when needed to inspect brakes, tires, suspension, and related components. Take clear photos and videos showing vehicle concerns and recommended repairs. Write detailed service tickets with accurate notes, findings, recommendations, parts, labor, and customer concerns. Build estimates for repair and maintenance jobs using Tekmetric Communicate directly with customers in a professional and friendly manner. Explain repairs clearly and honestly so customers understand what is needed and why. Perform approved repairs efficiently and correctly. Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and in good condition. Follow company processes, safety procedures, and shop standards. Work outside and inside the shop in both hot and cold weather conditions. Help maintain a fast-paced, customer-focused shop environment.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. ASE Certification required. Minimum of 3 years of automotive industry experience required. Minimum of 3 years of automotive service writing experience preferred. Must have strong knowledge of how vehicles operate. Must be able to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems. Must be able to write detailed and accurate service tickets. Must be comfortable speaking with customers and explaining repairs. Must be able to remove wheels from vehicles when needed. Must be able to take photos and videos to document vehicle concerns. Must be comfortable working outside in hot and cold weather. Must have personal tools. Must be a strong team player with a good work ethic. Must be self-motivated, dependable, and able to stay on task. Must be customer-friendly and professional. Must be willing to follow safety precautions when working around vehicles, fluids, chemicals, and shop equipment. High school diploma preferred. Vocational school, trade school, or apprenticeship completion is a plus.
Skills Needed:
Proven experience as an automotive mechanic. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle components. Working knowledge of diagnostic systems, scan tools, and repair procedures. Ability to use tools efficiently and complete jobs within expected timelines. Ability to communicate clearly with customers, technicians, and management. Ability to inspect vehicles thoroughly and document findings properly. Strong organization and time management skills. Customer service mindset with a focus on honesty, trust, and professionalism.
