Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of machinery critical to our operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment including trucks, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep our fleet running smoothly. Based out of San Angelo TX. With crews in West Texas and along the southern border. Health insurance : 70% paid by Employer !! Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy trucks, including tractor-trailers and diesel engines. Repair and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct mechanical systems repair including transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, shocks & struts, and vehicle electrical systems. Utilize power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and hand tools to execute repairs efficiently and accurately. Troubleshoot automotive electrical systems and mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics techniques. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist with equipment assembly, fabrication projects, tire service, wheel alignments, and equipment maintenance tasks as needed. Qualifications Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or truck mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy truck repair, diesel mechanics, transmission systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and vehicle electrical systems. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering devices and other maintenance tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions. Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance for truck drivers and fleet operators. Certification in diesel engine repair or relevant trade certifications is a plus; ongoing training in heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
