Job Description
The City of Lancaster, Texas is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our Equipment Services & City Facilities team. The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling municipal vehicles to help maintain a safe and reliable City fleet. Primary duties include diagnosing vehicle damage and mechanical malfunctions; repairing and replacing engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, steering and suspension components; inspecting and replacing worn mechanical parts; repairing electrical and ignition systems; performing front-end alignments; repairing radiators and vehicle body components; and installing or repairing vehicle accessories. The Mechanic also assists with the installation of emergency equipment and performs maintenance related to the operation of emergency vehicles. This position provides an opportunity to use your automotive repair and mechanical skills while directly supporting the vehicles and equipment City employees rely on to serve the Lancaster community.
