Job Summary MD Property Services is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment. This includes semi-trucks, pickups and work trucks, trailers, skid steers, four-wheelers, and other construction and landscape equipment. The ideal candidate is a skilled, dependable mechanic who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and can independently diagnose and resolve mechanical issues. This position plays an important role in keeping our vehicles and equipment safe and reliable, minimizing downtime, and keeping our crews productive. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on semi-trucks, pickups, work trucks, trailers, skid steers, four-wheelers, and other construction and landscape equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systems. Perform routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, fluid services, inspections, and scheduled maintenance. Identify potential problems before they lead to breakdowns or costly repairs. Inspect vehicles and equipment for safe operating conditions and address mechanical or safety deficiencies. Assist with DOT inspections and commercial vehicle maintenance requirements. Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform field repairs when necessary. Coordinate with operations to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and parts used. Communicate equipment concerns, repair needs, and anticipated downtime to appropriate team members. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work environment. Requirements Previous professional experience as a fleet, diesel, heavy equipment, or automotive mechanic. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Experience maintaining and repairing both diesel and gasoline engines. Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systems. Ability to diagnose problems and determine appropriate repairs. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple repair needs, and complete work efficiently. Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, tools, and shop equipment. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Dependable, organized, and able to communicate effectively with operations and other team members. Preferred Experience maintaining commercial trucks and construction or landscape equipment. Experience with DOT inspections and commercial vehicle maintenance requirements. Experience repairing trailers, skid steers, and hydraulic equipment. CDL or ability to obtain one. ASE certifications or other relevant technical training or certifications. $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
