Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as an Emergency Vehicle Technician, where your expertise will keep critical emergency response vehicles in top condition and ready to serve. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a wide range of heavy-duty and specialized vehicles, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. As an integral part of our maintenance team, you will perform comprehensive repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and ambulances. Your skills will directly impact public safety by maintaining the operational readiness of essential emergency response equipment. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics of emergency vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicle systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic systems accurately. Fabricate or modify vehicle components using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to meet operational standards. Operate heavy equipment such as any emergency vehicles, Aerials, forklifts, and other industrial machinery necessary for vehicle repair or parts handling. Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and compliance documentation for each vehicle serviced. Assist in the assembly and installation of new vehicle equipment or modifications to enhance vehicle performance and safety features. Self manage daily operations, maintain inventory and a clean work environment. Occasionally be willing to perform a mobile repair in a company provided service vehicle. Skills Proven dealership emergency vehicle repair, or lite- heavy truck repair experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems repair. Extensive knowledge of heavy truck repair including diesel engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and pump repair. Experience operating heavy machinery such as Emergency vehicles, lite-heavy duty trucks , forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely and effectively. Proficiency with automotive electrical systems repair including troubleshooting sensors, wiring harnesses, and electronic control modules. Mechanical aptitude combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and maintenance machinery. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures for fleet vehicles including tire service, brake repair, HVAC servicing, and vehicle system diagnostics. Ability to lift heavy components safely during repairs; excellent customer service skills when interacting with team members or external vendors. Pay:
$25.00 - $50.00 per hour
