Fleet & Equipment Mechanic / Project Assistant Safe & Sound Poured Floors, LLC - Manassas, VA Full-Time | $32-$38/hour, depending on experience Safe & Sound Poured Floors is looking for an experienced mechanic to take responsibility for the maintenance and readiness of our construction equipment and vehicle fleet. This position will be responsible for hands-on repairs, preventative maintenance, and maintaining an inventory of critical spare and wear parts. When time allows, this position will also assist our Project Management and Estimating teams with various office and project-related tasks. Equipment Strong Manufacturing Placer and Super 80 diesel-powered rotor/stator pumps Bobcat skid steers Ford F-550 / 5500-class trucks and company vehicles Equipment and utility trailers Small engines, generators, pumps, and other construction equipment Prior experience with Strong Manufacturing or gypcrete equipment is not required . Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain construction equipment and vehicles Perform and schedule preventative maintenance Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, pumps, and mechanical components Track equipment hours, mileage, service intervals, and repair history Maintain inventory of critical pump and equipment parts and proactively reorder parts as needed Order parts, filters, fluids, tires, and maintenance supplies Maintain and repair trailers, including brakes, bearings, lights, wiring, and tires Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed Coordinate with manufacturers, dealerships, and outside repair vendors Keep the shop and parts inventory organized Assist Project Management and Estimating with various office tasks as a secondary role when time allows Qualifications 3+ years of mechanical experience with construction equipment, heavy equipment, trucks, agricultural equipment, or similar machinery preferred Experience with diesel engines and mechanical troubleshooting Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems Organized and able to independently manage maintenance schedules and parts inventory Basic computer skills Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Welding/fabrication experience is a plus CDL is a plus Spanish-speaking is a plus

Pay:

$32-$38/hour, depending on experience Full-time, year-round position based in Manassas, VA.
