Tapani Careers Job Purpose and Responsibilities The Heavy Truck Repair Mechanic is responsible for inspecting and repairing the equipment that comes into the shop. Working hours are typically 40-45 hours per week and range between the hours of 2pm to 11pm, with occasional weekends.
Responsibilities Communication and Teamwork:
Communicate all necessary repairs to the Shop Foreman, maintain a positive attitude and a team atmosphere, and ensure a clean and tidy working environment.
Inspection, Diagnosis, and Repair:
Inspect, test, and diagnose malfunctions on trucks/trailers, research solutions, create a repair plan, discuss with the Shop Foreman, and repair or replace damaged or worn parts as directed.
Testing and Technical Skills:
Test all repairs to ensure proper performance, read wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics, and follow diagnostic procedures.
Safety and Compliance:
Safety compliance involves wearing PPE, identifying and mitigating hazards, using tools correctly, following safe practices, preparing for emergencies, adhering to regulations, and reporting incidents.

Ensure all repairs are tested thoroughly for safety and performance standards.
