Job Summary Automotive Painter - Poulsbo, WA (Light Body Tech Skills a Plus) We're a well-established, independently run collision repair group with a few locations here in the North Kitsap / Poulsbo area, and we're looking for a strong painter who's ready for a shop that actually has its act together. Real talk. This is collision repair. Some weeks the schedule is packed, parts don't always show up when they should, and cycle time pressure is real. We won't pretend otherwise. What we can promise is a clean, organized paint department, equipment and materials to get the job done, and a front office that writes complete estimates so you're not fighting for your hours. Who we're looking for. A painter who takes pride in color match, prep discipline, and clean booth habits and ideally someone who can flex into light body work when it helps the shop, especially on express lane vehicles (bumpers, small dents, R&I, quick-turn repairs). If you can keep the light stuff moving while owning the booth, you'll be busy and well paid here. Responsibilities Prepare vehicle surfaces meticulously through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply primers, paints, coatings, and clear finishes using conventional spray guns or airless paint sprayers with precision and consistency. Utilize buffing machines and automotive buffing techniques to achieve a smooth, glossy finish on painted surfaces. Conduct thorough inspections of painted vehicles for quality control, ensuring flawless finishes free of defects or imperfections. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly handling hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other equipment. Follow all safety protocols including proper use of respiratory protection and adherence to environmental regulations related to paints and coatings. Qualifications Proven dealership experience or extensive background in automotive refinishing is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in auto body repair and vehicle maintenance. Proficiency with surface preparation masking, sanding techniques, and automotive buffing processes. Skilled in the use of painting and coating spray guns, airless paint sprayers, grinders, and other power tools. Knowledge of auto restoration procedures and automotive surface preparation standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail throughout the refinishing process. Experience with auto glass replacement or repair is a plus but not required.
