Perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks on various vehicle systems, including engines, brakes, electrical, steering, suspension, and air conditioning. Conduct routine maintenance, such as oil changes, fluid level checks, tire rotations, and safety inspections, according to manufacturer and shop standards. Communicate effectively with service advisors or customers to explain diagnoses, recommend repairs, and provide accurate time and cost estimates. Document all work performed on repair orders legibly and accurately, including parts used and hours worked. Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to confirm the issue is resolved and the vehicle functions properly and safely. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all safety and environmental regulations for the handling and disposal of hazardous waste. Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques through formal training programs and technical publications. Qualifications and Skills Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles. Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and a wide variety of hand and power tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for conducting test drives. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications are highly preferred.
