Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Part-Time Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of heavy equipment, farm machinery, and automotive systems in a fast-paced environment. As a key contributor, you will perform essential repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Duties Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors using schematics and technical manuals. Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, and suspension adjustments for trucks, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brakes, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components to identify issues accurately. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to assemble parts or repair damaged components. Maintain detailed service records, complete repair reports, and document work performed for compliance and future reference. Assist with equipment fabrication and welding projects to modify or enhance machinery performance. Support heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate lifting gear such as cranes or forklifts while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a mechanic with dealership experience preferred; familiarity with automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems is highly valued. Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, electrical systems, and diesel engines. Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, or industrial machinery. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools required for repair tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate machinery safely; commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
