General Summary:
Since 1913, Hooper has grown to become a well-respected electric power and mechanical contractor. With headquarters in Wisconsin and regional offices in the states of Colorado, Florida, and Ohio, Hooper provides a wide range of services to support commercial and residential clients. The Mobile Truck and Equipment Mechanic will troubleshoot repairs, and maintains industrial trucks, trailers, wire pulling, and construction equipment used for electrical construction projects in Hooper's service area.
Principal Accountabilities:
Knowledge of major truck systems including diesel and gas engines, and ability to diagnose problems, make repairs, and perform preventive maintenance Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical schematics Ability to operate a variety of equipment including dozers, backhoes, skid steers, and cranes Familiarity with FMCSA and DOT inspection requirements and regulations Ability to operate basic shop tools including welders, cutting torches, and air tools Ability to fabricate with steel Complete detailed written repair orders accounting for labor and parts Familiarity with basics of Microsoft Word and Excel Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact positively with field staff and management Keep logs and records of all maintenance functions Understand and practice workplace safety.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High school graduate or GED Completion of diesel tech school program preferred Maintain a class A CDL in good standing including a federal medical card free of restrictions Ability to make decisions without close supervision Ability to climb ladders and steps and work on equipment surfaces is require Ability to travel and work outside at all times of the year Physically demanding position. Requires continuous standing, walking, and lifting.
