• Job Description
• The Avionics Technician leads and performs avionics maintenance, installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting on a wide range of corporate jets. This role focuses on hands-on aircraft work, including new avionics installations and complex system diagnostics, with a strong emphasis on Garmin and Honeywell avionics systems.
• Responsibilities
• + Lead and perform avionics maintenance, repairs, modifications, and installations on corporate aircraft, working directly on the aircraft rather than in a bench environment.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues with avionics systems, including autopilot, navigation, communication, and related electronic systems.

+ Install, configure, and upgrade avionics equipment, including Garmin and Honeywell systems, and other corporate aircraft avionics platforms.

+ Use pitot static and NAV/COM test equipment to perform system checks, inspections, and validations in accordance with regulatory and company standards.

+ Read, interpret, and apply wiring diagrams, engineering prints, blueprints, and schematics to perform accurate installations and repairs.

+ Run wires, route cabling, and fabricate harnesses for new installations and system modifications, ensuring proper layout and secure connections.

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot various satellite, telecommunication, and data communication systems installed on corporate aircraft.

+ Perform work on scaffolding, ladders, and in confined or awkward spaces on and around aircraft to access components and systems.

+ Inspect avionics equipment and systems for defects, wear, and compliance with applicable regulations and maintenance standards.

+ Train, coach, and support other employees, providing guidance on troubleshooting techniques, installation practices, and safety procedures.

+ Work independently with minimal supervision, managing assigned tasks and priorities across different shifts as needed.

+ Apply working knowledge of FAR Parts 145, 135, 91, 43, and 65 in daily maintenance and repair activities to ensure regulatory compliance.

+ Support line maintenance activities on corporate aircraft, including inspection, repair, and functional checks of avionics systems.

+ Collaborate with other technicians and departments to coordinate aircraft downtime, schedule work, and meet project timelines.

+ Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition, following all safety and quality procedures.

• Essential Skills
• + Minimum of 5+ years of corporate avionics troubleshooting, repair, modification, and installation experience.

+ Hands-on experience troubleshooting and installing avionics on aircraft, with work performed on the aircraft rather than in a bench role.

+ Strong experience with Garmin avionics systems; ability to learn and work with Honeywell and other avionics platforms.

+ Proficiency with Honeywell avionics systems and other corporate avionics such as Rockwell Collins Pro Line Avionics (Pro Line Avionics).

+ Experience using pitot static and NAV/COM test equipment to test and verify avionics system performance (required).

+ Ability to troubleshoot various autopilot, navigation, and communication system problems on corporate aircraft.

+ Experience with satellite, telecommunication, and data communication systems used in business aviation.

+ Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering prints, blueprints, and schematics accurately.

+ Experience with new avionics installations, including wiring, harness fabrication, and system integration.

+ Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised and manage tasks independently.

+ Working knowledge of FAR Parts 145, 135, 91, 43, and 65.

+ Experience running wires and performing detailed troubleshooting of electrical and avionics systems.

+ Capability to train, coach, and support other employees in avionics practices and procedures.

+ Physical ability to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces, work on scaffolding or ladders, and lift and pull objects up to 70 pounds.

+ Manual dexterity and physical strength to operate tools and perform precise adjustments and repairs.

+ Visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects, and hearing ability to test sounds and assess aircraft system functioning.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Experience working with a wide variety of business aircraft such as Gulfstream (including

G550, G450, G500

), Cessna Citation, Learjet, Challenger, Hawker, Beechjet, King Air, Falcon Jet, and Beechcraft aircraft.

+ Previous experience working for an FAA Part 145 Repair Station or a Part 135 Operator (preferred but not required).

+ FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certificate (preferred but not required for the right candidate).

+ Previous FAA Repairman's Certificate (preferred).

+ Experience with corporate aircraft line maintenance, inspection, and repair activities.

+ Background in aviation avionics systems, including corporate aircraft avionics repair and maintenance.

+ Interest in or previous experience in a lead role, with the ability to take ownership of projects and guide other technicians.

+ Comfort working across 1st, 2nd, or weekend shifts as assigned when needed.

+ Experience with aircraft inspection processes related to avionics and electrical systems.

+ Familiarity with a range of corporate aircraft avionics brands and systems, including Garmin, Honeywell, Rockwell Collins, and Pro Line Avionics.

• Work Environment
• This role is based in an active aircraft hangar environment, working primarily on 1st shift from 8:00 a.

m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some overtime as needed to meet operational demands. The hangar does not have air conditioning, so technicians work in varying temperature conditions typical of an open aviation facility. Work frequently takes place on and around aircraft, including on scaffolding and ladders, and in tight or awkward spaces to access avionics components. The position involves standing, kneeling, lying down, lifting and pulling objects up to 70 pounds, and using a variety of tools and test equipment to perform installations, inspections, and repairs. The environment emphasizes safety, precision, and adherence to regulatory and company procedures while working on a range of corporate aircraft and advanced avionics systems.

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $45.

00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
