Sustainment Engineer:
  • Will be responsible for leading the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program.
  • Shall provide recommended repairs of structural issues and anomalies, T-2 design support as described in the PWS and recommendations for depot level repairs.

submissions and responses. o Partner with SPO Engineering groups and Government Quality Assurance o Propose technically sound dispositions that match capabilities of shop and work force
  • Develops new or improved aircraft components/structures/repairs on Program assigned aircraft fleets IAW PWS, Army, USAF, USN, FAA, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Analyzes technology, resource needs, and maintenance demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
  • Plans and directs the installation, testing, operation and maintenance of aircraft components and equipment.
  • Authors & reviews updates and corrections to technical orders (AFTO Form 22)
  • Create or work with CAD (Solidworks, CATIA) to create tooling as required to facilitate maintenance
  • Develop technical documentation including presentations, reports, drawings, and other engineering data
  • Develops and sustains a culture of safety, quality compliance, and professionalism.
  • Ensures compliance with directives, technical manuals, work standards, safety procedures, and company policies relating to airfield operations
  • Position requires complying with unique commuting/travel requirements.
Additional Requirements:
    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering required, preferably Structural, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
      Experience:
      Five years of liaison or repair engineering experience of aircraft structures, with a minimum of 1 year experience supporting a USAF Aircraft Structural Integrity Program.
      • Specific knowledge of aircraft structural configuration, structural load path, design of repairs, standard repairs, repair methods, repair materials, sheet metal, machining and composites.
      • Comprehensive understanding of maintenance and quality control procedures in an USAF aviation environment.
      • Line maintenance and intermediate maintenance experience preferred.
      • Familiarity with USAF Engineering, IETMs, AFTO Form 22, and Aircraft Structural Integrity Program and technology
      • Must always interact with the customer and M1 employees in a courteous, professional and effective manner.
      • Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
      • Must be able to work days, nights or weekends, as required.
      • Must have a working knowledge of computers and basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel.
      • Must obtain/maintain a secret security clearance; previous or active Top Secret desired.
      • Must be a US citizen with current valid US Driver's license and able to drive long distances.
      • Must be able to move about both inside aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within a close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
