The position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters. The candidate for this position shall be a self-starter who can work independently, unsupervised, and with little guidance. The candidate will have an opportunity to be a member of a world-class team consisting of talented and dedicated engineers, technicians, and professionals who work together to interrupt and challenge the status quo to design and develop state-of-the-art technologies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking an Avionics Engineering Technician to plan, design, and test aircraft parts and provide feedback to the manufacturing teams. The selected technician will have responsibility for and should have expertise in the following areas: Ensure compliance with aircraft and missile requirements. Collaborate with other engineers and professionals on developing, producing, testing, and maintaining aircraft. Conduct repairs and installations. Test internal systems and check quality assurance based on understanding of aircraft and computer systems. Analyze new product designs to ensure efficiency and safety. Perform other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in a related field of study, at least 10 years of relevant experience. A higher-level degree may substitute for experience Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education Ability to understand and interpret complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications. Instrumentation experience using standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Experience with 3-D CAD software and generating wiring schematics. Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience pinning/de-pinning connectors, crimping, and chafe protection. Troubleshooting skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Understanding of soldering techniques and/or J-Std certified. Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, NASA, the US Department of Defense or US Military. A&P Certified. Experience with digital or analog circuit analysis.
CITIZENSHIP/SECURITY CLEARANCE
U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required. Active clearance preferred.
