Avionics Technician Job Description This role supports the installation, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and testing of aircraft avionics and electrical systems within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station. You help maintain aircraft safety and reliability by ensuring all avionics systems are installed and functioning in accordance with manufacturer specifications, FAA regulations, and internal quality standards. Experience with rotary-wing platforms is preferred, and candidates with fixed-wing avionics backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.   • Please Contact TJ Nowak At 610 249 2798 Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, remove, and replace aircraft avionics and electrical systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Fabricate and install aircraft wiring harnesses, avionics equipment, and electrical components in accordance with engineering and regulatory requirements. Install antennas, coaxial cables, and associated avionics equipment on a variety of aircraft platforms. Perform electrical wiring terminations, continuity checks, and functional testing to verify system integrity and performance. Conduct operational testing and system-level troubleshooting using avionics test equipment and diagnostic tools. Support aircraft modifications, upgrades, and new avionics installations from planning through completion. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical publications to execute work accurately. Complete maintenance records, log entries, and documentation accurately and in full compliance with FAA and repair station requirements. Support aircraft inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, and return-to-service processes in coordination with maintenance and quality teams. Collaborate closely with maintenance, sheet metal, and quality personnel to ensure timely and compliant completion of avionics work scopes. Essential Skills 4+ years of aircraft avionics experience required; 5-10 years of experience preferred. Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Strong understanding of aircraft wiring practices, electrical theory, and avionics systems operation. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and aircraft maintenance manuals. Proficiency using avionics test equipment and performing system-level troubleshooting and diagnostics. Experience with wiring harness fabrication, routing, installation, and termination. Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality workmanship. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively within a team-oriented environment. Experience working within an FAA-regulated maintenance or repair station environment (preferred). Military avionics experience will be considered as relevant experience Rotary-wing avionics experience is preferred, and fixed-wing avionics experience is valued. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in installation, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of avionics systems across various aircraft types. Experience with platforms such as AgustaWestland, Bell, Sikorsky, AW139, Eurocopter, Airbus, Boeing, Falcon Jet, HondaJet, Learjet, Phenom, Cessna, Citation, Bombardier, and Embraer is beneficial. Prior experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station or similar maintenance environment. Previous work as an Aircraft Mechanic or A&P Mechanic is advantageous. Possession of an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is a plus. Holding an FCC license or related avionics certifications is an advantage. Familiarity with maintenance, repair, and return-to-service processes for both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in an FAA Part 145 maintenance operation supporting primarily rotary-wing aircraft, with exposure to a variety of platforms. Daily work involves close collaboration with maintenance, sheet metal, and quality teams to support efficient and compliant return-to-service activities. The role requires regular use of avionics test equipment, wiring tools, and standard aircraft maintenance tooling in an active shop and hangar setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Latrobe, PA. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00
