Job Summary:
Student employees in the Aviation Technology Department will assist instructors and lab techs during class times, controlling tools for student use, basic clean up and machine maintenance. Desired candidate will be a student in the Aviation Technology Program. Student employees in the Aviation Maintenance position will be responsible for the following duties: Coordinate the disbursement, collection, and inventory of all aviation tools and equipment to both students and faculty as needed. Establish and maintain required consumable levels for each class. Responsible for maintaining Tool Inventory Control. Responsible for ordering supplies as needed and handle/sort consumables inventory. Repair and maintain equipment in accordance with established manufacturer and industry standards. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following the routine cleaning scheduling. Perform clerical and other office duties as required. Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community. LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan. LCC Student Employment:
The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows: Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period) Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period) 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it's student's first semester of enrollment at LCC and/or granted approval to waive requirement from the Student Employment Coordinator)
Note:
International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS): Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min. (taken over 16-week period) Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min. (taken over 8-week period) Additional Position Requirements Must be currently enrolled in the LCC Aviation Technology Program.
