Job Description

Powder Mountain's retail and rental locations are seeking enthusiastic individuals that are guest services focused, customer centric, and have a strong desire to sell Powder Mountain branded items! Must have understanding of ski and snowboard equipment and complimentary gear required for a great day on the snow.

Attend and complete all required training sessions and obtain all online certifications from applicable binding and helmet manufacturers Attend vendor led clinics. Provide consistent exceptional customer service. Assist guests through the rental process. Assist guests in the proper selection of equipment. Ensure that all equipment is adjusted for the specific renter per industry standards. Provide appropriate instruction on rental equipment's use and customer responsibility. Ensure that the rental customer signs all appropriate waivers. Properly utilize the computerized rental solutions system to ensure all equipment is correctly checked out and checked in when returned. Examine all rental equipment as it is rented and returned for general condition and damage. Consistently monitor guest flow and need to expedite the rental process. Engage guests on the retail sales floor, answering any questions in a prompt and professional manner. Assist in stocking and maintaining the retail sales floor. Stay informed on current promotions, sales, and seasonal products. Utilize POS software to sell retail items and rental products. Inform management of low stock levels or overstock concerns Maintain a clean and organized appearance of the shop. In-depth knowledge of Powder Mountain terrain and advice on suitable terrain for an exceptional guest experience. Other duties as assigned. Participate in regular team meetings, pre-season training, and store briefings. Support other resort departments as needed during high-traffic periods, peak holiday rushes, or special resort events. Requirements and/or
Qualifications:
18 years of age, or older HS Diploma - preferred. Must adhere to Powder Mountains appearance guidelines. Acquire binding certifications and follow on training as required. Proficiency with phone systems, point of sale software, and scheduling software. Proficiency with Google Suite Highly experience with computers Able to work with the public in a friendly, courteous manner. Able to handle heavy customer demand for extended periods of time, often working through scheduled break times, particularly during weekends and holiday weekdays. Be polished, polite, resourceful, and one-step-ahead of the needs of our guests. Well spoken, articulate and ability to remain enthusiastic during peak season. Reliable transportation, or commitment to using UTA. Ability to work, weekends, holiday, evenings, on call. Physical Requirements Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to: Full range of body movements including handling, lifting, reaching, bending, and climbing Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40+ lbs) such as ski equipment, rental gear, and merchandise boxes Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting during customer service, inventory management, and equipment handling Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, especially around the shop exterior and mountain base areas Climb/descend stairs/ladders, including accessing storage areas and shop lofts Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis, including ski tuning machines, binding tools, and other repair equipment Safely handle hazardous materials such as ski waxes, tuning chemicals, and cleaning supplies Working Environment The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor conditions at a high-altitude mountain location Cold temperatures, often below freezing, are common, especially when assisting customers outdoors or moving equipment between locations Noise level can be moderate to high due to customers, equipment, and music in the retail area Exposure to snow, wind, and wet conditions is frequent Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment during peak ski season with high customer volume Will be required to work weekends, holidays, and early/late shifts depending on mountain operations and customer traffic Company Background Powder is a year-round resort and real estate development project nestled throughout 12,000 acres in the Wasatch Mountains of Northern Utah.
