Responsibilities Perform comprehensive bicycle repairs including brake adjustments, gear tuning, suspension servicing, and mechanical system repairs using hand tools and power tools. Conduct symptom-based mechanical diagnoses to identify issues efficiently and accurately. Assemble new bicycles from parts, ensuring proper mechanical assembly and safety standards are met. Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair findings clearly to customers. Assist customers with retail sales by providing expert advice on bike maintenance, accessories, and cycling gear. Support maintenance work on store equipment and bicycle fleet to ensure optimal operation. Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions related to repairs, accessories, and sales while maintaining retail math accuracy. Requirements Proven experience as a bicycle mechanic or service technician with strong mechanical knowledge. Familiarity with suspension systems, brake repair, mechanical assembly, and symptom-based diagnosis techniques. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively. Experience in retail sales environments with excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance principles applicable to bicycles and other small vehicles. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling bikes or parts during repairs or inventory management. Prior experience with maintenance, repair operations (MRO), POS systems, and retail math is preferred.
