Job Description
McElroy Truck Lines has an immediate opening for a Facility Handyman. The individual will help maintain the professional appearance and operations of our home terminal in Cuba, AL. This role involves a variety of tasks, including performing repairs and conducting preventative maintenance. If you have experience in these areas, we encourage you to apply today.
Job Duties:
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance issues promptly. . Maintain ground by landascaping, cutting and trimming grass and fields
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and fixtures as required.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance efforts and support operational needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in maintenance-related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools to perform maintenance tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team. Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
