Position Summary - Floor Technician The Floor Technician is responsible for operating specialized floor grinding and polishing equipment to maintain and improve the condition of concrete flooring throughout the facility. This position performs concrete grinding, polishing, and related floor maintenance activities to ensure floors meet company standards for appearance, cleanliness, and safety. The Floor Technician is also responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance (PM) and basic troubleshooting on assigned equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Operate concrete floor grinding, polishing, and cleaning equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Clean and polish concrete floors to achieve required finish and appearance standards. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on floor grinding and polishing equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete routine cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs as required. Monitor equipment performance and promptly report maintenance issues or repair needs. Maintain adequate inventory levels of consumable supplies and replacement parts required for equipment operation. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. Adhere to manufacturer operating instructions and recommended maintenance practices. Complete assigned projects within established timelines while maintaining quality standards. Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment service records as required. Perform cleaning tasks as required. Qualifications Ability to safely operate industrial floor grinding, polishing, and cleaning equipment. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform preventive maintenance and minor equipment repairs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, safety procedures, and maintenance schedules. Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and materials as required. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in manufacturing and industrial environments with exposure to dust, noise, and moving equipment. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
