Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician Level 1 performs routine preventive maintenance, basic repairs, inspections, lubrication, and equipment support on approved production and facility systems. This role is expected to be familiar with basic maintenance principles, work independently on trained tasks, and assist higher-level technicians with troubleshooting, changeovers, and repairs in a regulated nutraceutical manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and basic adjustments on trained production equipment. Complete basic repairs and component replacements under established procedures and within approved skill qualifications. Assist with troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues on blending, milling, screening, compression, encapsulation, filling, labeling, and packaging equipment. Support equipment setup, changeover, sanitation readiness, and start-up activities as directed by qualified technicians or maintenance leadership. Accurately document work performed, parts used, inspection results, and follow-up needs in the CMMS. Follow lockout/tagout, food safety, cGMP, allergen control, sanitation, and documentation requirements. Other duties as assigned by management.

Internal Customers Maintenance, production, sanitation, quality, warehouse, and operations personnel External Customers Equipment vendors, contractors, service providers, and supply partners as directed
Accountability:
Direct accountability to the Maintenance Manager or designated maintenance leadership
Qualifications and Guidelines:
Required:
1-2+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or related mechanical experience. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and production equipment troubleshooting. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and basic shop equipment safely. Ability to follow written procedures, complete documentation, and work safely in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
Technical coursework, certificate, or previous experience in maintenance, machining, electrical, HVAC, welding, or manufacturing operations.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions.
