Mid-Continent Coal and Coke Company is a privately-held U.S. corporation headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded in 1942 as a metallurgical coal and coke producer. Today, Mid-Continent is the leading supplier of small metallurgical coke in North America with 12+ plant locations in the US.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician at our Blytheville, AR plant - where you'll play a critical role in keeping our equipment and operations running smoothly. This hands-on position offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to apply a broad range of technical skills every day. The Mechanical Technician will support equipment maintenance, repair, welding, millwright work, and troubleshooting in an industrial outdoor environment. The successful candidate will bring strong mechanical aptitude, experience with conveyors, bearings, shafts, valves, pneumatic systems, and related equipment, along with the ability to follow detailed instructions, work safely, and respond to operational needs, including overtime when required.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist PM in management of Inventory and Spare parts Assist PM in daily, weekly, monthly Maintenance work orders Manage data entry for (Limble) Maintenance Program Assist in Preventative maintenance of all equipment including thickness measurements Assist in enforcing Safety Rules such as LOTO and Confined Space Verify All Maintenance is done with pictures and self-checking Planning of projected down days for repairs Maintain daily, weekly, monthly reports Maintain mobile and process equipment Maintain and Service Equipment Operate Computer Controls Operate Forklift, Skid Steer, Front-End Loader, and Telehandler Load and unload small/large items with lifting equipment, as needed Perform various maintenance activities
Qualification Requirements:
At least 5 years of Maintenance experience Experience in Millwright work required Experience in Welding and Repair preferred Proficient knowledge of heavy equipment routine/predictive maintenance, a plus Knowledge of Pulley, Conveyors, Bearings, Shafts, Valves, Gas, Air, and Pneumatic. Prefer knowledge of Electrical Systems, Schematics and Maintenance Program (Inventory, Work orders, etc.) Must also be able to follow specific detailed instructions and work in a safety-oriented manner. Must have a valid driver's license Ability and willingness to work overtime as required Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and nationwide criminal background check. This may include urinalysis test and/or hair follicle, depending upon work location requirements.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to: Sit, stand, and walk on uneven surfaces Reach, bend, and climb ladders Moving material routinely by shovel Lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis Comfortable with PPE including fall protection; harness and lanyard, etc. Working in outdoor weather conditions regularly year-round May be exposed to dust, noise, heat, moving equipment, and other conditions typical of heavy industrial operations.
