Job Description

FLOOR TECHNICIAN / CUSTODIAN A
custodian specializing in floor care plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floor surfaces within a facility. Their duties include operating industrial floor scrubbers and buffers to deep clean, polish, and restore various types of flooring. This role requires a keen eye for detail to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned, removing stains, scuffs, and dirt to enhance the overall look and longevity of the floors. Additionally, the custodian adheres to safety protocols and maintenance procedures for the equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient cleaning process. Services are currently completed three (3) days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) at 7:30 am (could also be adjusted to an evening service).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine floor cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, and mopping
  • Operate floor care machines for tasks such as buffing, polishing, and stripping floors.
  • Apply sealants and finishes to protect floors and improve appearance.
  • Identify and report any damage or repairs needed for flooring.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Assist with deep cleaning and special projects as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness & organization of storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Adhere to environmental and health standards for the use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Provide support for setup & teardown of events or rearrangements of furniture as needed.
Skills, Qualifications, & Experience:
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 yr.
Customer / Client
Relationship Experience.
  • Must Possess a Valid Driver's License.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in rapidly changing environments.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals & supplies, including handling, storage, & disposal methods.
  • Experience in applying sealants and finishes to floors.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for identifying issues and proposing solutions.
  • Experience in maintaining & organizing storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment.
