Job Description
Maintenance Director Prairie Grove Health and Rehab Prairie Grove Health and Rehab is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance and overall physical condition of our skilled nursing facility. The Maintenance Director is responsible for ensuring the building, equipment, and grounds are maintained in a safe, clean, and operational condition while meeting applicable healthcare and life-safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform and oversee routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility Maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and other building systems Complete preventative maintenance inspections and maintain required documentation Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff Oversee the condition and upkeep of the facility grounds and exterior Coordinate outside vendors and contractors when necessary Assist with fire drills, emergency preparedness, and Life Safety Code requirements Maintain maintenance records and prepare for state, federal, and fire marshal inspections Ensure resident rooms and common areas are maintained in a safe and comfortable condition Manage maintenance supplies, equipment, and departmental expenses Work closely with the Administrator and other department leaders to address facility needs Qualifications Previous maintenance experience required Experience in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living, healthcare, or similar environment preferred General knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize work and respond to urgent maintenance needs Strong organizational and communication skills Knowledge of healthcare Life Safety Code requirements is a plus Must be dependable, professional, and comfortable working around residents and staff We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the building, stays ahead of maintenance issues, and takes pride in keeping the facility safe and well maintained.
