Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. Employee, performs preventive, corrective, and operational maintenance on the manufacturing facility, office infrastructure, and production machinery. This role is responsible for troubleshooting general facility issues (plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, grounds) and supporting manufacturing operations to minimize downtime. Rather than executing every specialized repair firsthand, this position relies heavily on the technician's mechanical aptitude to diagnose problems and their capability to efficiently manage and coordinate specialized external vendors and service providers for advanced building systems (HVAC, alarms) and production equipment (air compressors, dust collectors, pallet racking, press brakes, laser cutters, and robotic welders).
Facility & Infrastructure Care:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, including minor plumbing, basic electrical (lighting, switches, outlets, breakers), carpentry, painting, and drywall repair.
Production Equipment Support:
Conduct routine facility and machinery inspections to identify maintenance needs, equipment deficiencies, and safety hazards.
Vendor & Contractor Management:
Act as the primary on-site coordinator for external specialized service providers managing building systems (HVAC, security/fire alarms) and advanced manufacturing machinery (Air Compressors, dust collectors, pallet racking, Amada press brakes, laser cutters, and robotic welders).
Operational Readiness:
Respond promptly to facility and production maintenance requests to minimize manufacturing downtime; assist with office moves, equipment installations, and facility improvements.
Safety & Compliance:
Execute all duties safely in accordance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, Hazwoper and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Wear and enforce appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Asset & Inventory Control:
Maintain maintenance shops, tools, and storage areas in a clean, organized 5S condition. Track parts inventories and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
Documentation:
Log completed maintenance tasks, track equipment issues, and document vendor service visits within the company record system.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and hand/power tools.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. (Practical field experience is highly prioritized over formal technical degrees).
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience performing facility, building, or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing, commercial, or similar environment.
Vendor Coordination:
Proven ability to communicate with, schedule, and oversee external contractors or technical service providers.
Core Technical Skills:
Practical troubleshooting knowledge across plumbing, basic electrical, mechanical repairs, and facility asset upkeep.
Certifications:
Valid California Driver's License required. Forklift and scissor lift certifications (or the ability to obtain them immediately upon hire). Hazwoper 24 Hrs. or 40 Hrs. training is highly desirable.
Capabilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to read equipment manuals and basic schematics.
Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
