Our facilities team plays a key role in ensuring our production environment is safe, reliable, and optimized for continuous operation. Position Summary The Facilities Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems and infrastructure to support efficient production. This role ensures the reliability of utilities, equipment, and facility assets while upholding strict food-safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, boilers, chillers, and wastewater systems. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues and implement timely repairs. Support maintenance of production-related utilities such as tempering rooms, cooling tunnels, refrigeration systems, and process water loops. Facility Operations Monitor facility performance and respond to utility alarms or equipment failures. Assist with building upkeep including lighting, doors, flooring, safety equipment, and general infrastructure. Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance areas in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Compliance & Documentation Follow all safety, sanitation, and food-safety guidelines, including OSHA, GMP, and HACCP requirements. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment documentation using CMMS software. Participate in audits, facility inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives. Projects & Continuous Improvement Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or facility upgrades. Recommend improvements to enhance reliability, energy efficiency, and equipment life cycles. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize downtime and optimize facility operations. Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in facilities or industrial maintenance (manufacturing environment preferred). Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to work in a food-manufacturing environment (temperature variations, standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs). Preferred Experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Boiler operator or refrigeration certifications (e.g., RETA, EPA 608, boiler license). Experience with CMMS maintenance systems. Basic welding, fabrication, or carpentry skills. Soft Skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision. Problem-solving mindset with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement.
Pay:
