Job Description

Job Overview The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and equipment used in a sheet metal manufacturing facility. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports production efficiency while maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including press brakes, shears, laser cutters, stamping presses, spotwelders, and other equipment Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement timely repairs Troubleshoot equipment failures and work closely with production teams to minimize downtime Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics Install, align, and calibrate new equipment or machinery as needed Maintain and repair facility systems such as compressors and material handling equipment Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and ordering supplies when necessary Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency Experience/ Qualifications High school diploma or GED (technical certification or associate degree preferred) Experience with CNC programming or controls Welding and fabrication skills PLC troubleshooting experience 2-5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (sheet metal or metal fabrication preferred) Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Ability to troubleshoot machinery and automated equipment Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems
Pay:
$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
