Job Description
Water Utility and Maintenance Technician I/II City of Encinitas
- 3.4 Encinitas, CA Job Details Full-time $55,702.40
- $81,536.
Knowledge of:
Water utility maintenance practices, safety procedures (traffic control, confined space, trenching), customer service, recordkeeping, and relevant equipment/tools; Customer service principles; Basic recordkeeping techniques; Applicable maintenance practices related to concrete, asphalt, signage, tree trimming, traffic control, water utilities, masonry, and/or other applicable trades; A variety of heavy equipment and tools; Safe work practices.Applicants must have Ability to:
Operate heavy equipment and tools; Troubleshoot leaks/system issues; Perform manual labor; Complete paperwork and documentation; Provide customer service; Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work as well as coworkers and supervisors; and ensure regulatory compliance. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.), plus one year of experience in construction or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. License Requirements Valid California Driver's License Successful completion of safe driving, CPR and First Aide courses within six months DEH Distribution 1 Certification. Traffic Control and Flagger Certification. Confined Space Entry Training.ESSENTIAL DUTIES REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
: Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, climb, push, pull, and exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards; ability to travel to different sites and locations, availability for shift work, on-call, stand-by, and emergency call.
