Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Valley Center, CA. This role supports housing facilities and properties through hands-on construction, repair, and maintenance work in a public sector environment. The Maintenance Technician will be part of a dependable facilities team that values safety, professionalism, teamwork, and quality service. Key Responsibilities
- Perform construction, repair, and general maintenance work throughout housing facilities and surrounding properties.
- Complete general labor and skilled-trade assignments, including electrical, plumbing, and concrete-related repairs.
- Troubleshoot facility maintenance issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Safely operate, clean, and maintain hand tools, power tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Communicate professionally with residents, members, coworkers, and the public to identify maintenance needs and provide quality service.
- Follow safety procedures, department standards, policies, and applicable regulations while completing assigned work. Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $23 to $27 per hour.
- Job type: Direct hire. Required Qualifications and Skills
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in construction, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or a skilled-trades environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of general construction, repair practices, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Dependable, professional, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a crew.
- Strong communication and customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing electrical repairs in a facilities or property maintenance setting.
- Experience with plumbing repairs and general fixture maintenance.
- Experience with concrete preparation, placement, finishing, or related repair work.
- Background supporting housing facilities, public sector properties, or community-based maintenance operations.
