Job Description

Handyman / Maintenance Technician Swim, Tennis & Pickleball Club | Fairfax, CA $25-$35 per hour | 30-40 hours per week About the Position We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Handyman / Maintenance Technician to help keep our swim, tennis, and pickleball club safe, clean, functional, and welcoming for our members and guests. This position is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of our clubhouse, pool area, tennis and pickleball courts, grounds, and equipment. The ideal candidate is a dependable problem-solver who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and can handle a variety of maintenance and repair projects. This position reports directly to the Club Manager and works closely with club staff and outside vendors. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep throughout the club and grounds Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair work Repair and maintain doors, gates, fences, benches, lighting, fixtures, irrigation, and other equipment Maintain clubhouse areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and common areas Maintain tennis and pickleball courts, including nets, windscreens, gates, and fencing Perform groundskeeping tasks such as sweeping, pressure washing, minor landscaping, and general cleanup Help maintain the pool area, including furniture, umbrellas, safety equipment, and minor repairs Assist with basic pool equipment checks and maintenance as trained; major pool system work is handled by an outside pool company Conduct regular inspections and identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems Respond promptly to maintenance requests and assist with urgent repairs when needed Set up and break down equipment for club events and activities Maintain tools, equipment, and organized work areas Monitor maintenance supplies and notify the Club Manager when materials need to be ordered Follow all safety procedures and help maintain a safe environment for members, guests, and staff Qualifications Previous handyman, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs Comfortable safely using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Able to work independently, stay organized, and prioritize tasks Reliable, punctual, and dependable Comfortable performing physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, climbing, standing, and working outdoors Valid driver's license preferred Preferred Experience Recreation, swim, tennis, pickleball, club, or similar facility experience Pool equipment or basic pool maintenance experience Landscaping or grounds maintenance experience Schedule & Work Environment 30-40 hours per week Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays depending on club needs Occasional on-call availability for urgent maintenance issues may be required Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions Position may involve exposure to pool chemicals, cleaning products, and outdoor elements What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is dependable, practical, hardworking, and takes pride in keeping a property looking its best .
