Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance department of a well-established recycling facility in Fresno, CA. This position is primarily focused on preventative maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and equipment repair. You will work alongside an experienced Millwright maintaining critical production equipment throughout the facility. This is not an installation role. Fresno, CA 93725 $35.00-$40.00+/hour DOE Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Three Saturdays per month (half days; flexible) Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment Troubleshoot hydraulic pumps Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems Perform MIG, Tig and stick welding Fabricate replacement parts as needed Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics Repair conveyors, pumps, bearings, motors, gearboxes, and production equipment Maintain preventative maintenance records Follow all safety procedures and company maintenance standards Work closely with the maintenance team to minimize equipment downtime Equipment You'll Work On Stationary Shears Two-Ram Balers Hydraulic Pumps Hydraulic Cylinders Hydraulic Motors Hydraulic Valves Hydraulic Hoses Pumps Electric Motors Bearings Gearboxes Conveyors Production Equipment Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of Mechanical Millwright or Industrial Maintenance experience Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience Preventative maintenance experience in an industrial environment Experience repairing hydraulic systems MIG welding experience TIG welding experience Stick welding experience Metal fabrication experience Torch cutting experience Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments Strong understanding of bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, and conveyor systems Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in an industrial manufacturing environment
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour Application Question(s): Hydraulic Troubleshooting How would you troubleshoot a hydraulic pump that is not operating properly? Can you explain the differences between MIG, TIG, and Stick welding? When would you use each welding process? What types of materials are best suited for MIG, TIG, and Stick welding? If you suspect an electrical short in a machine, how would you troubleshoot it?
