Learn how you can start or jumpstart your career with us. Qnity's ACST site in Hayward, California has an opportunity for a Maintenance& Reliability Mechanic to join our team.

Maintenance& Reliability Mechanics are responsible for routine and non-routine maintenance activities on the site's manufacturing and process equipment. Daily tasks include performing maintenance in the areas of chemical transfer systems, utilities, PLC's, mechanical and electrical systems. Duties include coordinating and executing troubleshooting efforts and strive to implement improvements with operations and engineers as needed for day-to-day site operation.
Shift:
5am
  • 1:30pm or 11:30am
  • 8:00pm (able to work weekends and day or evening shifts) Pay rate: $35
  • $45 (depending on experience) As a Mechanic at the site, you will: Work with a variety of team members including other mechanics, operators, and engineers.

Be willing to continuously learn new skills and new technologies Be able to utilize computer software programs to troubleshoot Be able to operate a mechanical lift Be punctual and demonstrate reliable attendance
Qualifications:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is required; a 2-year technical/vocational degree in a related field is strongly preferred Minimum 2+ years' experience in a Maintenance role, relevant professional work (electronics, maintenance, computers) or military experience, is preferred Experience with mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves etc. is required E
  • Electrical and Instrumentation preferred Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include; equipment such as hearing protection, gloves, safety glasses, hardhats, respirators, and safety shoes when required While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to stand; walk (up and down stairs); twist; bend; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb for extended periods of time; and will require the ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
