Job Description

The City of Los Banos announces the recruitment of Utilities Maintenance I/II. Vacancies will be filled at the level deemed most appropriate based off of qualifications and experience of the candidate pool. The Utilities Maintenance position performs hands-on maintenance, repair, and construction work for the City's water, wastewater, and storm drainage systems. The role operates heavy equipment, responds to service issues, maintains infrastructure, and provides customer service to residents and businesses. This is a field-based utilities position focused on keeping the City's water, wastewater, and storm drainage infrastructure safe, reliable, and operational, while operating heavy equipment and providing responsive service to the community.
Qualifications:
Utilities Maintenance I Must be age eighteen (18) by date of application. Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Possession of a valid California Class C driver license and ability to obtain, a valid California Class B driver license within six (6) months of hire date. Must be able to obtain State of California Water Distribution and Water Treatment Operator certifications within eighteen (18) months following hire date. Utilities Maintenance II In addition to the
Minimum Qualifications of Utilities Maintenance I:
Possession of a Class B driver license. Possession of a Grade I Water Treatment Operator s Certificate and Grade II Water Distribution Operator s certificate. Two (2) years of experience equivalent to Utilities Maintenance I or similar position.
