Full Job Description Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, performs a wide variety of skilled mechanic duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and modify mechanical equipment within the bottling line. Duties include but are not limited to the following:- Assembles and installs mechanical and electromechanical equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment and systems by isolating the malfunction, disassembling equipment, and repairing or replacing critical components.
- Performs preventative maintenance on bottling equipment, sanitation, non-certified welding, wiring, and simple machining operations incidental to repair and maintenance tasks.
- Direct staff to proper procedures and duties on bottling line efficiency, excluding all personnel issues.
- Reports on condition of all bottling line equipment, mechanical and electrical components, replacement parts, and maintenance equipment inventory to Bottling line Supervisor and Bottling Line Production Manager regularly.
- Maintenance of replacement parts, inventory and equipment required for routine PM.
- Post run sanitization and changeover for next day
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Occasional training of other maintenance support staff. Training bottling team members in preventative and operational maintenanceRequired Skills/Abilities:
Essential:
- Able to self-manage priorities, workflow and meet tight deadlines in strict adherence to company Health and Safety protocols
- Team player with ability to negotiate with intra/inter organizational cross-functional teams
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and high standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Education and Experience:
- 3 years' experience in a bottling maintenance environment in food/beverage industry
- Requires knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment and materials used on bottling lines used in the wine industry. Continued education may be required.
- Current driver's license
- Forklift certification
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to talk and hear through other distracting noises Stand, walk, bend, kneel and crouch. Climb stairs and ladders Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs. Ability to lift items above the head Manual dexterity required to adjust small cellar fittingsWork Environment:
- This position operates in an outdoor/indoor environment. May be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures , in bright sun, and in rain
- Must be flexible with work schedule to allow weekends and evenings as needed during harvest season. Occasional evenings outside of harvest
- Work in busy environment that may include heavy equipment and forklift activity, multiple conversations, and music Hourly, non-exempt Schedule varies, overtime required during pre and post bottling line runs/peak seasons Reports to: Bottling Manager
- This shift will be from 9am - 5:30pm
