POSITION OVERVIEW
The Maintenance Technician at Old Town Baking Company supports production operations under the direction of the Maintenance Manager by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving equipment and facility systems. Key attributes include problem-solving, teamwork, safety commitment, and flexibility to work independently and adapt to a variable schedule. Employees are expected to provide basic hand tools necessary to perform their job duties. Specialized equipment and shop tools will be provided by the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventative maintenance on bakery production equipment, packaging equipment, conveyors, mixers, ovens, slicers, and facility systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical equipment to minimize production downtime. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment failures during assigned shifts. Conduct routine inspections of machinery and identify potential issues before equipment failure occurs. Complete work orders accurately and maintain maintenance records, repair logs, and preventative maintenance documentation. Assist with equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and improvement projects. Safely operate maintenance tools, welding equipment, lifts, and other authorized equipment. Follow all company safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and food safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work area. Assist with facility maintenance including plumbing, lighting, compressed air systems, doors, and general building repairs. Coordinate with Production, Sanitation, Quality Assurance, and Management teams to support operational efficiency. Participate in emergency repairs and after-hours maintenance activities when required. Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, workplace safety, and production efficiency. Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
At least 18 years of age. Minimum 2+ years of industrial, manufacturing or food production maintenance experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Proficiency with shop tools, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency and strong problem-solving skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Basic proficiency in utilizing technology equipment such as computers, cell phones, printers, and copy machines. Reading, writing, and basic math skills. Experience operating MIG and TIG welding equipment preferred. Excellent communication skills and teamwork. If you do not have the required educational level but do have highly verifiable experience, you may be considered.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks as needed. Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in varying production environments for extended periods of time. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Comfortable working in various plant environments Although employees will be assigned to a department, they will be cross trained in other departments. Employees will be required to assist in other departments if necessary.
