Job Summary Frontier Building Products Pacific Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Overhead Door & Dock Technician to join our team in California. The Technician will be responsible for assisting with and performing the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of commercial overhead doors, dock equipment, and related systems to help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting with effective repairs and installations in the field. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, good time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. As we continue expanding our Southern California operations, there may be opportunities for advancement within the company.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform and assist with the installation, troubleshooting, service, and repair of commercial door systems, including sectional doors, rolling steel doors, fire doors, high-speed doors, dock equipment, and related hardware Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical door-related issues and assist in determining appropriate repair solutions Communicate professionally with customers regarding job status, work being performed, and basic service-related questions Ensure work is performed in accordance with company standards, safety requirements, and applicable building codes Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and job specifications related to installations and repairs Safely operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, ladders, and other jobsite equipment as trained and authorized Perform quality checks on installations and repairs prior to job completion Complete and submit required paperwork daily, including work orders with clear notes, photos, part numbers, and timecards through JobFilez Follow all company safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment Maintain tools, equipment, company vehicles, and work areas in a clean and professional condition Assist other technicians and team members as needed to complete projects safely and efficiently Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of construction, mechanical, or related field experience preferred Commercial garage door or dock equipment experience is a plus Mechanical aptitude and experience working with a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, cordless impact drivers, angle grinders, hammer drills, and other powered hand tools Welding experience is a plus Ability to read and understand drawings and basic job specifications Solid basic math skills Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. or more Ability to work at heights and use ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts with appropriate training Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Valid driver's license required Ability to travel out of state from time to time If you take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy working with your hands, and are interested in building your skills in the commercial overhead door and dock equipment industry, we want to hear from you.
