SUMMARY:

Maintain all floor types / areas and maintain company standards of floor cleanliness, appearance, and sanitation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, (other duties may be assigned): Moves furniture before and after cleaning with care. Disposes of trash and assist with trash collection Operates various types of equipment while donning adequate personal protective equipment (PPE). Measures chemicals correctly. Maintains chemicals, including labeling and dispensing correctly. Cleans and maintains all equipment in accordance with manufacture guidelines. Reports any maintenance issues to supervisor or manager. Demonstrates regular, predictable attendance at the job site or Assists with special projects and assume responsibility for the development, administration, and promotion of specific projects as Cleans and maintains various floors surfaces. This includes carpet, wood, marble, vinyl, stone, tile, slate etc. Vacuums, shampoos, bonnets and extracts carpets / stairwells. Performs preventative maintenance checks on all equipment prior to use. Performs floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Experience in janitorial work and floor care is preferred, but not required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

No computer skills needed.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively speak and understand English.

MATH ABILITY

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in liquid units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems related to the job. Ability to follow both written and oral instructions from managers and supervisors. Must be able to demonstrate correct use of chemicals, supplies and tools assigned. Must be able to operate mechanical equipment, once trained, and detect equipment malfunctions.

Requires the physical ability to continuously walk, stand, bend, kneel up to 90% of the time, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Cleaning carts and equipment require the ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 200 pounds on casters or rollers. Must be able to ascend a ladder of no more than six feet in height.
