Maintenance Engineer Job Overview:
The Doubletree Hotel Circle is seeking a hard-working and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As our hotel is older, we are looking for a proactive and skilled individual with strong expertise in plumbing, drywall repair, and HVAC systems. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our hotel, providing a safe and comfortable environment for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
General Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks including troubleshooting, repair, and preventative upkeep of all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
Plumbing:
Repair and maintain the hotel's plumbing systems, including faucets, toilets, water heaters, drains, and other plumbing-related fixtures and systems.
Drywall Repair:
Patch, repair, and finish drywall in guest rooms, corridors, and public areas as needed.
HVAC Systems:
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure efficient operation and guest comfort.
Electrical and Mechanical Systems:
Assist with routine electrical and mechanical system maintenance, including lighting, appliances, and other hotel equipment.
Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections of the hotel's systems and facilities to identify and resolve potential maintenance issues before they become larger problems.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety standards and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Director of Engineering and other departments to prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
Emergency Repairs:
Respond to urgent maintenance calls and emergencies, including after-hours situations when necessary.
Inventory and Supplies:
Manage maintenance inventory and supplies, ensuring tools and equipment are in proper working order and well-stocked.
Qualifications:
Experience:
2+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance, with a strong focus on plumbing, drywall, and HVAC systems.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge and experience with electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
Certifications:
HVAC certification is preferred; additional certifications in plumbing or electrical work are a plus.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, work on ladders, and handle physical tasks associated with the maintenance of an older hotel.
Availability:
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call emergencies as needed.
Communication Skills:
