We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where equipment reliability, safety, quality, and execution matter. Position Summary 5th Axis is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the reliability and performance of our CNC machinery, production equipment, and facility systems. This is a hands-on industrial maintenance position responsible for preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and supporting equipment uptime throughout our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical aptitude, practical experience working with industrial equipment, and the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues safely and effectively. Candidates with experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, CNC, or automated manufacturing equipment are strongly encouraged to apply. What You'll Do Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs on CNC machines and related production equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues. Respond to equipment downtime, work orders, and repair needs to help maintain safe and reliable production operations. Inspect equipment for wear, abnormal conditions, potential failures, and safety concerns. Perform equipment adjustments, component replacements, repairs, and other maintenance activities. Use maintenance manuals, schematics, electrical diagrams, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Support troubleshooting of CNC machinery, controls, drives, motors, and related production-equipment systems as appropriate. Identify recurring equipment issues and support corrective actions to improve equipment reliability. Assist with equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and maintenance projects. Coordinate with Production and other departments to complete maintenance activities while minimizing operational disruption. Accurately document preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment conditions, work orders, and parts usage. Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Follow lockout/tagout requirements, safety procedures, maintenance standards, and company policies. Provide technical assistance and support to other Maintenance team members as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Hands-on experience working with industrial or manufacturing equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills. Experience performing preventive maintenance and equipment servicing. Working knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial equipment. Experience with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, CNC, or automated equipment is strongly preferred. Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective action or escalation. Ability to read and interpret maintenance procedures, manuals, schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation. Experience using hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, and diagnostic tools. Ability to recognize abnormal equipment conditions and potential failures. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while maintaining established safety and maintenance standards. Ability to prioritize maintenance activities based on equipment and production needs. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with Maintenance, Production, and other departments. Experience supporting equipment reliability initiatives, complex troubleshooting, or providing technical guidance to other technicians is a plus. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous manufacturing, maintenance, mechanical, or related industrial experience required. Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience strongly preferred. Technical coursework, certification, apprenticeship, associate degree, or other relevant industrial maintenance training is preferred. Experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC machinery or related production equipment is highly desirable. Physical Requirements Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces. Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, reach, and stoop as required to perform maintenance activities. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, oils, and coolant fluids.
