The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial facility and maintenance, or building operations, with experience in environments such as airports, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, hotels, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, or other large-scale properties. This role is responsible for maintaining buildings, equipment, infrastructure, and grounds while performing preventative maintenance, repairs, renovations, and construction projects. The successful candidate will be safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while delivering high-quality workmanship. Essential Responsibilities Facility Maintenance Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on commercial buildings and facility systems. Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair building systems, equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure. Maintain the overall appearance and functionality of interior and exterior building spaces. Construction & Renovation Perform light commercial construction, remodeling, and renovation projects. Install and repair drywall, framing, flooring, doors, trim, cabinetry, and finish materials. Complete painting, patching, and finishing work. Assist with tenant improvements and facility upgrade projects. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction documents. Mechanical Systems Perform minor plumbing repairs and fixture installations. Complete basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Repair and replace lighting systems, outlets, switches, and fixtures. Perform routine HVAC maintenance and coordinate major repairs with licensed contractors. Maintain pumps, motors, mechanical equipment, and facility machinery. Grounds & Exterior Maintenance Maintain parking lots, sidewalks, fencing, landscaping, and exterior structures. Operate maintenance equipment, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently. Perform seasonal maintenance and weather-related repairs as needed. Equipment & Tool Maintenance Inspect, maintain, and organize maintenance equipment, tools, and machinery. Ensure equipment remains safe, operational, and properly stored. Porter Services & Facility Cleaning Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of all common areas, including offices, hallways, break rooms, restrooms, and other shared spaces. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, countertops, and fixtures. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain all flooring surfaces. Clean interior and exterior glass, windows, and entry doors to ensure a polished appearance. Empty trash and recycling receptacles and restock restroom and facility supplies. Promptly identify and report maintenance or safety concerns. Assist with additional porter and housekeeping duties as assigned to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Safety & Compliance Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations. Accurately complete maintenance logs, work orders, inspection reports, and related documentation. Vendor & Project Support Coordinate with contractors and vendors during facility improvement projects. Assist with project scheduling and quality control. Monitor completed work to ensure compliance with company standards and project specifications. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Technical trade school, vocational training, or apprenticeship preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of commercial facilities maintenance, construction, or building operations experience. Experience working in airports, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, hospitals, schools, hotels, or similar environments is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of:
Carpentry Drywall installation and repair Painting and finishing Flooring installation and repair Plumbing Electrical systems HVAC systems General commercial construction Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while working independently. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification Forklift Certification Scissor Lift and Boom Lift Certification Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) CPR and First Aid Certification Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Schedule:
Monday/Friday start time 6 am Either Saturday or Sunday Required ( one weekend day ) Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to frequently bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders, and work from elevated platforms. Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor throughout the workday. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
