Job Description
Overview Hourly rate is $26.50 per hour USD The Pictsweet Company is growing! A 4th generation family owned company established in 1945, Pictsweet is a frozen vegetable producer with agricultural roots. We are hiring a Maintenace Mechanic in our Santa Maria, CA facility. Responsibilities Working with mechanical packaging and other associated equipment. Meet production quota. Requests and monitors inventory to ensure proper parts supply. Troubleshoot and repair air, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs packaging equipment as needed. Assists manager and other mechanics with projects that arise throughout the plant Must be able to operate a forklift. Follows all Company policies and procedures, which include SOP's, Employee Handbook, Food Safety and Quality Procedures, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have three years or more of related mechanical experience and/or education. Must be able to communicate well, both verbally and written, with management and co-workers. Having the ability to read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and equipment manuals to determine proper work procedures. Being willing to receive training and certification for the following: forklift, man lifts, cranes, rigging, and overhead cranes, etc. Being willing to weld Stainless Steel and other metals utilizing TIG, MIG, Arc and Oxy-acetylene welding. Ability to work and participate in a team-based environment. Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, neat work areas, shops, vehicles, storage areas, etc.
