Maintenance Mechanic Location:
Stockton, CA Pay:
$30-$35/hr

Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support the safe and efficient operation of a steel manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining overhead cranes, forklifts, industrial machinery, and mechanical/electrical equipment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain overhead cranes and crane equipment Diagnose and repair forklifts and material-handling equipment Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals Repair and replace motors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, brakes, switches, sensors, and other components Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and basic machining as needed Inspect equipment and identify potential safety or mechanical issues Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance Follow safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Work closely with production and maintenance teams Qualifications 3+ years of industrial maintenance or maintenance mechanic experience preferred Overhead crane repair and maintenance experience highly preferred Forklift maintenance and repair experience Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics Basic electrical troubleshooting experience Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment Welding and fabrication experience preferred Ability to work safely in a steel manufacturing or heavy industrial environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be able to lift, climb, bend, kneel, and work around industrial equipment Preferred Experience Overhead crane maintenance and repair Forklift maintenance and repair Industrial electrical systems Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Motors, gearboxes, brakes, and conveyor systems Welding and fabrication Preventive maintenance programs Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Industrial troubleshooting and diagnostics Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly diagnose equipment issues and make reliable repairs.
